Scott is a seasoned health care professional who has been in the field since completing his Master's degree in 2006. He has worked in alcohol and other drug prevention, community mental health and peer recovery services, private sector behavioral health and health care services as well as healthcare sales, account management and business development. While on his journey navigating his own mental health recovery as a childhood traumatic brain injury survivor, Scott created the brand Spicer's Consulting in 2009. The primary objective was to build up capital for reinvestment into a new innovate community based organization. This vision shifted in 2022 when Scott left his big corporate health care job to work in clinical outreach for several private mental health and addiction treatment centers. At that time he recognized a significant gap in treatment services that were accessible to individuals in need of an interim between hospital and outpatient mental health services. In 2023 he lost his father to depression and near the 1 year anniversary of his father Lawson's death, Scott was inspired to envision The Lawson Center. Since 2009 Scott has led the process to successfully launch several other charitable brands including National Mental Health & Dignity Day and the Edward H. and Rosamond B. Spicer Foundation. His knack for entrepreneurship, creating and executing brands and dedication to transforming mental health recovery, is the driving force behind The Lawson Center.
